Our Hadoop/Data Infrastructure Systems Administrator will maintain Hadoop clusters in Linux environment to provide optimal performance and system availability.  The ideal candidate with have experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex storage problems.  Also, this opportunity requires experience building advanced tooling form monitoring, administration, and operations of multiple Hadoop clusters.

Required Skills/Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Extensive experience with Hadoop cluster administration and scaling
  • Tangible experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex storage problems
  • Proven ability to build efficient tools for monitoring, administration, and operations of multiple Hadoop clusters.
  • Expert level Linux administration skills
  • Strong knowledge and background of leading Web servers, such as Apache and nginx
  • Experience managing Ruby on Rails and J2EE Web stacks
  • Experience with Big Data – in excess of multiple terabytes
  • Experience with horizontal and vertical scaling of high traffic Web and Web service applications
  • MySQL performance tuning expertise
  • Expertise in programming to automate system administration tasks – Ruby preferred
