Full-Time Ruby on Rails Developer

Job Description

We’ve got a full-time opening for a Ruby on Rails programmer in the SF Bay Area. We meet regularly in Palo Alto.

Here’s what we want from you.

You write clean code that you want others to read.

You have built scalable websites, and you understanding caching well.

You can articulate what Rails is good for and what it’s bad for.

You have ideally created a public GitHub project, posted answers on Stack Overflow, modified open-source code, or created some hacks that you’re proud of.

When you are unsatisfied with the behavior of open-source code, you write a patch.

You also know a scripting language like Python or a systems language like C++ well enough that you are comfortable coding in it.

You have experience with JSON.

You have worked with, and know the good, bad, and ugly about, at least one of: MySQL, Postgres, and MongoDB.

You enjoy solving new problems and creating things that work well. You care about the efficiency and responsiveness of sites. You’re confident that you can select good algorithms and data structures for a given task, and even come up with new ones when needed.
